So yesterday was my Taco Tuesday, and I posted a picture on Studio Vegan Facebook Page. I also shared the picture on the group the " vegan for beginners " page. and I shared it all over. So I thought why not share some tips and a simple recipe. It's super easy.


So as always I love tacos!! I think this is honestly was the first time. I' haven't had a taco in a well last time. I had a taco bowl, it was at Jajaja Plantas Mexicana. I love that place. So this is what you're going to need.


First things, first you're going to need your protein. What source of protein, would you like to use?

You can use any of the following ( TVP, Seitan, Chickpeas, Walnuts, Mushrooms) all of them are amazing proteins when making tacos.


First, you're going to need your fillings. When it comes to Tacos, you can use, lettuce, kale, or spinach. Vegan Cheese I love Violife but pick your favorite. Daiya is great as well, now tomatoes you can dice them up or you can use cherry tomatoes. On to the salsa, pick your battles I prefer mild. You can buy vegan sour cream or make it using, tofu recipe down below.

So now that we have Mise en place we're going to put everything together.


What you will need :

Protein I used TVP

Taco Seasoning ( I used my homemade seasoning)

Greens ( iceberg lettuce, spinach or kale)

Tomatoes ( cherry tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, vine tomatoes)

Taco Shells ( soft or hard lol what that's what she said!! )


Tofu Sour Cream recipe

4 oz tofu ( firm, soft, any will do)

1 Tbsp of lime or lemon juice

1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar

2 Tsp of salt

water add as needed


  1. Add everything to the blender. blend until it gets a nice thick creamy, lol oh man consistency.

  2. Add more about a table at a time if needed water if needed taste and add more salt, and it's ready for the taco.

Make your Taco Protein FIlling ( makes 5 -6 tacos)

1/2 cup of TVP soaked in 1 cup of water ( drain water before cooking)

1 Tbsp 1 tsp of my taco seasoning ( I used my homemade taco seasoning)

2 Tbsp of Avocado Oil ( use what you have)


Place your protein in a skillet, with 2 tbsp of oil add in 1 tsp of seasoning. Let it get brown on medium heat. Making sure to mix so it doesn't stick to the pan too much. Once it is brown and it's done browning up. Turn it off, add in the rest of the seasoning, and mix it well.


Let's make that Taco!!!

Heat up the Taco shell in the Over for about 1 min

To assemble tacos, a layer of sour cream, layer protein mixture, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes in each taco shell. Serve with salsa.

Everybody does it differently but that's how I always eat my Taco.
