Vegan Chick'n Nugget | Studio Vegan


Vegan Chick'n Nugget, Patties, bite whatever you want to call it.


So I want to create my own version of nuggets because I was sick and tired of spending so much money morningstar's buffalo bites, Morningstar chick'n, patties morningstar's nuggets. I had them all, but my pocket wasn't having any more. I'm doing this budgeting thing, where I don't spend any money outside of a certain budget $15 dollar. They're way out of my budget.


So I came across a few vegan chick'n recipes and I created this one and, found this one to be the best for me.

I'd also like to add your nugget might not look like mines. See the video below but they will taste good the season I've added is optional well not the poultry seasoning but make it your own I'm making Buffalo Style next.

Crispy Chickpea "Chicken"

  • 15 oz. Can Chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained

  • 1 Tbsp. Olive oil

  • 2 Tbsp. Soy sauce

  • 1/2 C. Vital wheat gluten

  • 2 tsp. Poultry seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp. Salt

  • Pinch of Black pepper

  • 2tbsp Vegetable broth

  • 1 C. Bread crumbs, for coating the outside or more Panko bread crumbs

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tbsp Nooch

Poultry seasoning recipe

  • 2 tsp ground dried sage

  • 1 ½ tsp ground dried thyme

  • 1 tsp ground dried marjoram

  • ¾ tsp ground dried rosemary

  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg

  • ½ tsp finely ground black pepper

Batter

  • ¾ cup any nut milk or ANY vegan milk (I used unsweetened almond milk)

  • 1 ½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar or regular vinegar

  • 1 cup gluten-free flour or regular flour

Crumb Mixture

  • 3 tsp smoked paprika

  • 3 tsp nutritional yeast

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 tsp sea salt


Cooking Method 1


1. measure everything out clean your bowl turn your oven on 350 to preheat


2. Add everything to the food processor but Vital wheat gluten


3. once it's all well-combined add the Vital wheat gluten to the food processor and let it process for about 2 mins this will help break it up and make it all amazing.


4. Time to make your nugget patties or bites, pick one and let break off. Some pieces break off pieces and shape them into nuggets roll them in the batter, them press them in the bread crumbs.


5. Place them on the baking sheet bake for about 6 mins take them out and pan fry or deep fry until golden brown take outlet them cool and enjoy.


6. You can also place them in the freezer for later use.



Cooking Method 2


1. Measure everything out clean your bowl turn your oven on 350 to preheat


2. Add everything to the food processor but Vital wheat gluten


3. once it's all well-combined add the Vital wheat gluten to the food processor and let it process for about 2 mins this will help break it up and make it all amazing.


4. Time to make your nugget patties or bites, pick one and let break off. Some pieces break off pieces and shape them into nuggets roll them in the veggie stock them press them in the bread crumbs.


5. Place them in boil veggie broth and allow them to boil for about 9 min remove let them cook, using batter, or water. Dip in batter, coat in bread crumb, fry in that order until your done.


6. You can also place them in the freezer for later use to re-heat or just to freeze.



Yes, you can bake them for about 10-15min in 375F or 190C brush with oil and watch them.
